PMS 5.3 Release Notes¶
Released 27/08/2021
Initially planned as a patch release to resolve some minor issues arising following the release of PMS 5.2, ongoing development and porting of features from the old UI to the new UI led to a new minor version release.
In addition several tickets from https://support.maproadpms.ie/ were resolved as part of this release.
Enhancements Highlights¶
Login Changes¶
As part of tech refresh the Login button has been added to the new user interface. This allows a user to logout of the system to prevent further access to the system. In addition the system will not load until the user has logged in, so the browser remains blank until login is successful.
There are two other features added to the 5.3 release related to logins:
A login tooltip displays when hovering over the login button, showing the username and browser roles assigned to the logged in user
The reasons for the login failure is displayed via a pop-up in the bottom-right on an unsuccessful login attempt:
Export Shapefile from Grids¶
This new feature allows the contents of a grid to be exported to a zipped shapefile.
Notes:
The shapefile will contain whichever records are currently displayed in the grid - so if paging is turned on then only 20 records will be exported. Uncheck the “Page Records?” box to show all records in the grid and allow all records to be exported.
The field names in the exported shapefile will use the field names from the underlying WFS service, rather than the grid column headers shown in the grid. In addition due to the limitations of the DBF format used by shapefiles field names are truncated to 10 characters, so ProjectLenght will become PeojectLen. If the truncation of the field name causes duplicate names then they will contain a numeric postfix e.g. PSCIRati_1, PSCIRat_2 etc.
Only the columns visible in the grid will be exported, and there is no guarantee that the column order used in the grid will match the order of columns in the shapefile.
Geometries are exported in the ESPG:3857 Web Mercator projection (the same projection as used in the PMS browser)

Layers¶
New styles have been added to the Texture (MPD) layer to allow values to be shown for left, right, and average values (as part of https://support.maproadpms.ie/Ticket/1628).
Thumbnails support added to the Speed Signs layer
Clustering added to Bridges, Speed Signs
-
MapRoad Layers
3 layers displaying data originally captured in the MapRoad desktop system have been ported from the old user interface to the new interface. These are:
MapRoadLegacy
MapRoadHazards
MapRoadAccidents
Other Changes¶
Grid column headers - these now support multiple line titles with text wrapping, making it easier to see column headers
Grid formatting - the formatting of columns across various layers was reviewed and formatting changes applied
Projects with an intervention type of “Structural Rehabilitation” are now returned to the MapRoad Licensing System
