AADT - Annual Average Daily Traffic

Note

This page details forms and layers available in the new PMS UI from version 4.6 onwards.

Overview

The AADT module is used to assign AADT values to sections of the road network, either as stretches or by zone. AADTs record the level of traffic on a road.

The AADT module in PMS consists of the following forms:

The following map layers are available (through the UI and also by WFS/WMS):

  • Latest AADT Values - this layer combines all AADT surveys calculating the latest AADT for a stretch of road using its creation date

  • AADT Surveys - this layer shows each of the individual AADT surveys created by users

  • AADT Polygons - this layer shows user created polygons used to define a AADT survey

Background

The AADT value has a bearing on the traffic management of the site when there is an intervention on the road. It may be that the work is allowed at certain times/days.

Future development of the MapRoad PMS will allow for recording of AADT bands against Planned Works and these will be assigned to the road schedule. The same tool will allow for direct recording of AADT against the road schedule.
